Famously known as the place where explorer Captain James Cook ran aground at high tide on a hidden offshore reef, Cape Tribulation is a pristine sweep of white sand that really feels like journey’s end.
Explore the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest at night with guides who'll introduce you to an area with the highest number of animal species. The sights, sounds and sensations of being in the rainforest at night is enchanting, as are the foraging creatures you'll discover.
Activities on offer include day and night guided rainforest walks, 4WD safaris to Bloomfield Falls, tracks to hidden waterfalls and swimming holes, reef trips and crocodile watching tours.
Allow a minimum of one and a half hours drive time from Cairns to reach the ferry
At peak times there may be queues at the ferry so you need to take these into account. At the height of the tourist season there may be quite a long wait. Peak flows would be between 10am -12 noon travelling north and 3pm - 5pm travelling south. The ferry operates from 6am until midnight. It costs $16 for a return ticket.
